The venue for the upcoming Pakistan Women’s vs Sri Lanka T20I series has been changed, with all three matches now set to take place in Dambulla instead of Hambantota.
The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the Pakistan Women’s T20I series against Sri Lanka will retain its original dates despite the venue adjustment. The teams will meet in three T20I matches on July 31, August 2 and August 4, 2026.
Pakistan Women’s T20I Series Moves to Dambulla
The three match T20I leg of Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka was initially scheduled to be played in Hambantota. However, the venue has now been shifted to Dambulla, meaning the T20I matches will be staged at a different venue from the ODI series.
The change affects only the location of the T20I matches. No changes have been made to the series dates, according to the official announcement.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Women’s T20I Schedule
- 1st T20I: July 31, 2026 — Dambulla
- 2nd T20I: August 2, 2026 — Dambulla
- 3rd T20I: August 4, 2026 — Dambulla
The T20I series will also provide Pakistan with an opportunity to test several emerging players. Pakistan T20I squad features eight changes from the team that represented the country at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with several uncapped players included in the group.
ODI Series Schedule Remains Unchanged
The venue change does not affect the ODI leg of the tour. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will continue to play their three-match ODI series at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
The ODI fixtures are scheduled for:
- 1st ODI: July 23, 2026 — Hambantota
- 2nd ODI: July 25, 2026 — Hambantota
- 3rd ODI: July 28, 2026 — Hambantota
The ODI series forms part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–29, making the matches particularly important for both teams as they compete for valuable championship points.
Fatima Sana to Miss T20I Series
Pakistan regular ODI captain Fatima Sana is set to feature in the ODI series before departing for England to participate in The Hundred Women’s competition.
As a result, Muneeba Ali Siddiqui has been named captain of Pakistan T20I side for the Sri Lanka series. The change in leadership will give Pakistan an opportunity to assess its younger players and build greater depth in the shortest format.
