Sialkot Stallionz Make a Grand Return

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has welcomed back the franchise formerly known as the Sialkot Stallionz. In a significant update, the team has officially rebranded itself as the Multan Sultans ahead of PSL 11.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer confirmed the change in a press conference, highlighting the franchise return and its new management structure.

Leadership and Name Change

Under the leadership of the newly appointed CEO, Gohar Shah, the franchise requested an official name change, which has now been approved. According to Naseer, this was Shah first major decision as CEO, as the “Multan Sultans” name had previously been unavailable for use in the league.

This rebranding represents not only a new identity but also a fresh strategic vision for the franchise moving forward.

Increase in Annual Franchise Fee

Alongside the rebranding, PSL officials announced that the team annual franchise fee has been raised from PKR 1.85 billion to PKR 2 billion.

Previously, Oz Developers had made a record breaking bid of PKR 1.85 billion for the Sialkot franchise during the January PSL auction, making it the largest bid in the league history at the time. The recent increase further underscores the franchise growing value and the league expanding commercial appeal.

Future Outlook

With new leadership and a stronger financial commitment, the Multan Sultans are poised to make a significant impact in PSL 11. Fans can expect a revitalized team identity, strategic player acquisitions, and heightened competition on the field.
