Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a special meeting with Pakistan Under 19 cricket team following their historic victory in the Under 19 Asia Cup. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister announced granting Rs 10 million to each player in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Celebratory Dinner and Official Recognition

To honor the young champions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a formal dinner attended by the players, coaching staff and management. He congratulated the team on their impressive success against India and praised their dedication, discipline and teamwork.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and several federal ministers were also present at the event showing full institutional support for the country emerging cricket talent.

Team Selection and Preparation Process

Speaking at a press conference after the meeting Head Coach Shahid Anwar revealed that the preparation process began on June 17, 2025. Initially, 70 young cricketers were shortlisted for trials.

After careful evaluation, 30 players were selected for an intensive training camp. The team entered the Asia Cup with a clear goal not only to win the trophy but also to win the hearts of cricket fans.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Praises Young Talent

Former national captain Sarfaraz Ahmed confirmed that the Prime Minister personally appreciated every player and announced Rs 10 million per player for the entire Under 19 squad.

He emphasized that both the players and coaching staff worked tirelessly to achieve this success. According to Sarfaraz, the Prime Minister expressed strong hope that this team would continue to bring more trophies to Pakistan in the future.
