India claimed the three match ODI series with an impressive nine wicket win over South Africa in the final match. After losing the second ODI in Raipur the Indian team rebounded strongly to dominate the decider. Virat Kohli sealed the win with a stylish boundary giving India a convincing 2–1 series victory.

India Clinical All Round Performance

India displayed complete control across both departments. While the bowlers particularly Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna kept South Africa under pressure, the top order trio of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli ensured a flawless chase.

India had earlier won the opening match in Ranchi, lost the second in Raipur, and then produced a one sided performance in the final showdown.

India Dominant Chase of 271 Runs

Chasing South Africa 271, India reached the target in just 39.5 overs while losing only one wicket. The openers laid a solid platform before Rohit Sharma fell for a well made 75 off 73 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes.

Jaiswal Match Winning Century

Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered the performance of the match with his maiden ODI century. The young left handed opener remained unbeaten on 116 from 121 balls striking 12 boundaries and two sixes. After Rohit’s dismissal he built a stable partnership with Virat Kohli to guide India home comfortably.

Kohli Stylish Half Century

Virat Kohli added an unbeaten 65 from 45 deliveries featuring six fours and three sixes. His fluent knock ensured India maintained momentum throughout the chase and finished the match with complete authority.

Jaiswal Registers First ODI Century

Before this match Jaiswal had already scored centuries in Test and T20I cricket but was yet to reach the milestone in ODI. His maiden hundred came in Visakhapatnam as he completed the landmark off 111 balls hitting ten fours and one six initially before expanding his stroke play later.

De Kock Century Rescues South Africa

Earlier in the day Quinton de Kock played a blistering innings to help South Africa reach a competitive total. His 106 off 89 balls included eight fours and six sixes. He built crucial partnerships 113 runs with captain Temba Bavuma (48) for the second wicket and 54 runs with Matthew Breetzke (24) for the third.

However South Africa innings lost momentum after de Kock dismissal mainly due to India disciplined bowling attack.

Kuldeep and Prasidh Shine with the Ball

India bowlers ensured South Africa never fully recovered. Kuldeep Yadav variations troubled the middle order while Prasidh Krishna provided breakthroughs at vital moments. Their combined effort bowled out South Africa for 270 in 47.5 overs setting up a chase that India completed with ease.
